Introducing transparent curtain fabric Airy
Even though artists have been depicting it for generations, the horizon is an enduring source of inspiration, a symbol of open expansiveness and endless possibilities. From sunrise to sunset, the resulting gradients are marvels of nature, with colours bleeding effortlessly into one another.
Vescom brings the natural beauty of horizons into the interior with the launch of Airy, a digitally printed transparent curtain fabric with the subtle structure of fine linen. Woven in Vescom’s own weaving mill and printed in-house, Airy combines Vescom’s longstanding knowledge of designing and producing woven textiles with its expertise in digital printing.
True to its name, Airy contributes to the creation of intimate yet buoyant interiors. While the transparent curtain fabric can certainly be used to softly dress windows, it can also move away from a room’s fringes to form a subtle, fluid border – a comfortable and cocooning space-within-a-space that maintains visual connections and lets light flow through without the physical barrier of panes of glass.
Each of Airy’s nine colourways shifts from one shade to another to unprinted white fabric, resulting in muted gradients that resemble deep oceans dissolving into cloudless skies and forests bathing in the setting sun. Thanks to the fabric’s transparency, even the darker colours feel light and warm.
Vescom’s colour experts have finely tuned each tone and transition to create harmonious, seamless gradients, whether they’re comprised of variations on the same colour, or shift from one colour to its complete opposite.
Featuring earthy tones and springlike shades, Airy’s palette is highly adaptable. Not only does the curtain fabric inject colour into interiors but, thanks to the myriad tones and shades formed by each gradient, it works with any number of colours within a space. Airy’s gradient can even serve as the inspiration for an interior’s entire palette. Rather than conveying one specific look and feel, Airy is a chameleon. Different colours align with different interior atmospheres, from soft, powdery and tactile to fresh, modern and playful.
Airy’s palette also aligns with Vescom’s high-performance wallcovering and upholstery materials, making it easy to visually connect different elements within an interior.
Airy is a railroaded seamless floor-to-ceiling solution with a height of 290 cm. Due to the gradient, desired curtain lengths shorter than 290 cm will require the removal of fabric from one end of the gradient. Note that detailed instructions should be given to the curtain confectioner outlining which part of the gradient should remain. Gradient curtain fabrics longer than 290 cm are possible as a customized Curtain+Print solution.
