Radisson RED is a new hotel philosophy that connects with an ageless millennial mindset through art, music and fashion. Vescom supplied >digital printed wallcovering for the recently opened Radisson RED Glasgow.
The interior of the new hotel was designed by Graven. In Red it is key that all hotels are seen to morph with local culture and influences. In Glasgow, Graven responded to Glasgow’s young energetic culture, and collaborated with two local artists, Adrian B McMurchie and Frank Quitely (real name Vincent Deighan).
Colin Chau, interior designer at Graven said: “Art is very much part of the DNA of the brand. So for the interior walls we wanted something bespoke that captured and reflected the young energetic Glasgow Culture, with the infamous Glaswegian humour and party atmosphere”!
Graven worked with both artists to create a series of large scale installations that push art way to the fore throughout both public spaces and guest rooms. The giant illustrations work as both a medium for setting a social tone as well as making the interiors relevant locally.
Vescom printed the original artwork >digitally on vinyl wallcovering. Colin Chau commented: “We have worked with Vescom for many projects and the digital wallcovering they provide is an excellent medium in order to communicate artwork. The crispness and boldness of the printed single colour that Vescom can provide is critical and essential, as both artist use an illustrative line style. And as with Vescom on previous projects, we knew we were in safe hands they can provide and deliver professionally.”
